Our Spring Curriculum - March, April, May

Preschool & Kindergarten (Ages 3 - 5)

Unit 1: Learning about Easter
To Christian believers, Easter is a time to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. But on either side of this significant day are Bible stories that will teach your children how to love and praise God and to begin seeing Jesus as a compassionate and faithful Friend they can trust.

Unit 2: Learning to Obey
This unit provides four Bible stories to help children learn obedience. From the stories of Adam and Eve, Jonah, the Prodigal Son, and Naaman, kids will learn the benefit of making right choices, including forgiving others and being thankful.

Unit 3: Learning to Witness, Pray, and Worship
Even at the preschool level, children can begin learning the disciplines of the Christian faith. This unit provides stories about Nicodemus, Philip, Jesus, and David from which children will develop an appreciation for learning God’s Word, sharing His love with others, the benefit of prayer, and worshiping God.

Unit 2: Stories about Easter
This unit will help students experience the joy of Easter as they explore Jesus’ resurrection and meeting two men on the road to Emmaus.

Unit 3: Elijah’s Friends and Enemies
Primaries will learn how God protected Elijah from Queen Jezebel, rebuked King Ahab for stealing, and gave Elijah a friend, ministry partner, and successor in Elisha.

Unit 4: Stories about Elisha
Students will explore Elisha’s ministry beginning on the day Elijah went to heaven in a chariot. They will also hear about a widow’s oil multiplying, Naaman’s healing, and God protecting Elisha from an enemy king. This unit also includes Pentecost Sunday.

preteen spring curriculumPre-Teen (Ages 10 & 11, Grades 5 & 6)

Unit 1: The Gospel and Acts
Preteens will be able to state the four ways Jesus was shown in the Gospels and how Gentiles were reached as a result. These lessons focus on how and why each Gospel writer presented a different view of Jesus.

Unit 2: Paul’s Epistles
From this study of Paul’s letters to the Early Church, students will learn how to explain God’s plan for salvation, why the Church is a body, and what the Christian’s hope is.

Unit 3: General Epistles
In this unit, students will give examples of living their faith, tell how to respond in God- pleasing ways when having problems, and learn three questions to help them discern false teaching.

Unit 1: The Gospel in Romans and Galatians
Find out what Romans and Galatians have to say about the life- changing power of God proclaimed in the gospel. This unit focuses on God’s power to save from sin and change the lives of those who put their faith in Christ. Students will be encouraged to live their everyday lives in the liberty of God’s righteousness by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Unit 2: Ecclesiastes
Challenge students to consider the whole message of Ecclesiastes and avoid misunderstanding the point the writer was trying to make: living life not surrendered to God is meaningless. The first lesson in this unit lays the groundwork that the true meaning and purpose of life can only be found in a right relationship with God. The next lesson identifies attitudes that make life meaningful. The final lesson guides students to embrace God’s purpose for their lives, to love and serve Him.

Classes begin each Sunday at 9:45 am.
